Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit historyinminutes.shop or buy the eBook The Entire History of the World, and what we do with it. The data controller is Mahammad Layicov, Azerbaijan, trading as History in Minutes. Contact: hello@historyinminutes.shop.
What we collect
- When you buy: checkout is handled by Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record. They collect your name, email address, billing country and payment details. We receive your name, email address, country and order details so we can deliver the eBook and help with support. We never receive your card details.
- When you email us: your email address and whatever you write to us.
- When you visit the site: our host, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type to serve the site and protect it from abuse.
- Analytics: we use PostHog to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are viewed, what is clicked, how far people scroll, the referring site or campaign (such as YouTube), device and browser type, approximate location from your IP address, and page performance. See Analytics and cookies below.
We don't use advertising trackers or sell ads on this site, and we don't send newsletters.
Analytics and cookies
We use PostHog, hosted in the European Union, as our analytics processor. When you first visit, a banner asks for your choice:
- Before you choose, or if you decline: we record anonymous page views and clicks without cookies or local storage. Each visit is counted on its own and isn't linked to earlier visits.
- If you allow: PostHog stores an identifier in a cookie and local storage so repeat visits can be linked, and records anonymous session replays (a reconstruction of how the page was used). Everything you type into form fields is masked and never recorded.
You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer. We keep analytics data for up to 12 months.
Why we use it
- To deliver the eBook and send your download link (performing our contract with you).
- To answer your questions and handle refunds (contract and legitimate interest).
- To keep records required for tax and accounting (legal obligation).
- To understand how the site is used and improve it (anonymous counting: legitimate interest; cookies and session replay: your consent).
Who we share it with
- Dodo Payments, which processes payments, tax and refunds as Merchant of Record.
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site.
- PostHog (EU hosting), which provides our website analytics.
- Google Fonts, which serves the site's typefaces; your browser requests the fonts directly from Google.
We don't sell your personal data.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting law requires, and support emails for as long as we need them to help you. Then we delete them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct, delete or export your personal data, or object to how we use it. Email hello@historyinminutes.shop and we'll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
